Bitter Hope!

Humanity is not dead,

even though some humans are!

Love is not dead,

even though some stopped loving long ago!

No! They are not dead!

As long as you choose to smile in the face of hate,

they will never die!

As long as you choose to believe,

they will breathe the fragrance of life!

There is hope my friend,

no matter how bitter it may taste!

 

 

 

ある人はもはや人間であることをやめたが、

“人間性”はいまだ死んではいない!

ある人はとうの昔に愛することをやめたが、

“愛”はいまだ死んではいない!

しかり、人間性も愛も死んではいないのだ!

あなたが憎しみの面前でほほ笑むことを選ぶ限り、

それらが死ぬことは決してない!

あなたが信じることを選ぶ限り、

それらは命の香りを吸い込むのだ!

まだ“希望”があるのだ、我が友よ。

それがどんなに苦いものだとしても!
